Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area in the West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" location. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of communities. For those who haven't known about it may mistake it for an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often cited, however her short stay was not. Brugel was an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to be a dancer however a rapid growth rate meant that she literally outgrew her dance partner. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. As soon as I outgrew all my male partners, I stopped. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In the case of Brugel, it was the encouragement of her drama teacher at her high school which pushed her in the direction she required. A teacher suggested that she try out for a school production. Following a trial the role, she was chosen as the leading lady for Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, she's appeared involved in more than 60 shows, big and small. Most notable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian in the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and seen only occasionally, was the sole Canadian.
